We have clients whose properties are outfitted with comprehensive sprinkler systems and that receive 2, 3, or 4 organic fertilizer applications over the course of the growing season. These customers require weekly maintenance.

In sharp contrast, we care for other people’s properties that might have thinner than average dark loam cover, are in full sun that causes then to dry out quickly. These clients are used to us checking on what needs attention on a monthly basis.

For over 20 years T.L.C. has perfected a system which efficiently collects and hauls away our client’s tree’s leaves. Hundreds of yards of ground up hard wood tree leaves have been delivered to area back yard gardens for composting/soil enrichment purposes 

Designing and building appealing and practical landscapes is something that we enjoy doing for a variety of reasons. Consulting with owners, helping them to dream aloud about what material styles appeal to them, what potential seasonal maintenance challenges are anticipated, and just as importantly what size outdoor living space improvement budget they must have us abide by, are all aspects of the process which I look forward to working with clients on. 

Bark mulching makes gardens look great and discourages weed intrusion for the rest of the year. For customers who like the idea of dressing the space around flowers, bushes and trees with something that blocks light, discourages weed growth, and is a lighter colored alternative to various brown shades of bark, indigenous ¼”, ½”, ¾” or 1” screened stone may by the best choice. Unlike bark, an added advantage to using this material is that it does not require replenishing each year. 

Often the circumstance people are faced with is the reality that their shrubs have gotten away from them with overgrowth and they need to start over with fresh nursery stock that gets properly cited and maintained to prevent growth too close to the siding of buildings, roof lines and windows. Our goal in this instance is to get old bushes and trees dug up whole or pulled out from the roots so that there is nothing left in the way of new plant material.

Have you ever noticed moss edging it’s way along to compete with areas of your yard that used to be covered with a thicker blanket of grass than you have now? Effects from acid rain and the decomposition of evergreen tree mast can cause our soil acidity to increase.  Increasing the PH of your soil with either an application of pulverized or pelleted limestone will slowly give your turf a competitive advantage over the acid loving mosses.

Mother nature is relentless in her desire to turn cleared areas back to forest. One economical way of combating this growth is to schedule 2 to 3 field mowings per year which keeps cleared land open. Once a year field mowing is also an option to keep open spaces from filling up with unwanted woody growth. After two years without being cut back, a field begins to become dominated by young trees which require farm tractor brush hog equipment to reclaim as open space. 

This task is most often performed as part our Spring and Fall Clean Up services. We are able to confirm that downspouts are also free and clear with high velocity air. 

This popular service defines the border between where your grass stops and your flower and/or ornamental shrub/tree bed begins. It looks very sharp and also facilitates landscape maintenance. 

Aeration involves perforating the soil with small holes to allow air, water and nutrients to penetrate the grass roots. This helps the roots grow deeply and produce a stronger, more vigorous lawn. The main reason for aerating is to alleviate soil compaction.  We use core aeration to keep air and water available to the turf root zone. 

One of our trucks is capable of carrying up to eight yards of loose material like bark mulch or wood chips. We buy mulch from the source at Wagner Wood sawmill. We are happy to deliver four yards or more to assist you in beautifying your gardens as well as helping you keep them weed free. Loam, stone, gravel, or TRG are all products that can be purchased for you by us and delivered to your home or business cost effectively over bagged products.  

Sometimes circumstances will dictate that the best course of treatment for a struggling lawn is renovation. Using steel tine rakes to thoroughly loosen the top one inch of soil, yet still leave the existing decent grass in place undisturbed, we are able to get new grass to germinate and fill  the bare problem areas in between.
